A church with a shape of a crystal slipper

This slipper-shaped church was inspired by a story of a girl of the '60s and it is now one of the main attractions in Budai, Taiwan.
Sovereign elements of the church: large blue stained glass windows and its heel.
Among the most bizarre churches of the world, there is a special one in Budai, Taiwan. In February 2016, in fact, a church with a unique shape was inaugurated. It is a 16-meter high crystal slipper, which cost US$686,000 and that reminds Cinderella’s slipper.

This crystal slipper-shaped church was created as an attraction, but it is also meant to recall a local story of a young girl who in the 1960s was abandoned by her future husband due to her leg amputation operation. After that sad story, she decided to devote the rest of her life to the church, and it was also starting from this that the idea of a crystal slipper church was born.

The church not only consists of more than 322 blue stained glass windows, but it was also created accordig to a special aim. As the then South West Coast spokesman had confirmed, it was built primarily to attract tourists, as well as to hold pre-wedding shoots.

In short, this is not exactly an example of a liturgical structure, where you can participate to the celebration of Holy Masses. This slipper-shaped chucrch was primarily created to attract the attention not only of brides-to-be, but also of tourists. (The giant glass slipper church of Taiwan)
