High-tech churches: worshippers' offerings with Apple Pay

Interesting innovations in the church world. Over 16,000 churches in the UK have started accepting offerings via Apple Pay. Not less important is the technological offering box of the church of Saint-François de Molitor, in Paris.
When we think about the word "modern", we first think of something innovative and contemporary. The church, for example, has adopted for a long time installations of last generation. Installations that can find a good resolution to specific problems. But not only that.

Well, if Swedish churches are already accepting credit cards and virtual donations, in the UK some churches have also decided to give it a try too. Starting from 2018, these churches have started to adopt new offering ways via Apple Pay. Nowadays more than 16,000 churches have converted into these offering methods.

This new contactless way does not only concern Swedish and British churches. A while time ago in Paris, at the church of Saint-François de Molitor, it was decided to even adopt a technological offering box, equipped with both a display and a contactless credit card reader. This offering box is visually identical to the classic ones, but at the same time different thanks to the inclusion of a modern payment system.

So, with this particular technological adaptation, we certainly cannot say that the church is not increasingly renewing itself or that it does not want to embrace new technologies. The church is gradually adapting itself to the changes brought by technology, a technology that is more and more present in our daily lives. (Heaven can't wait: Church of England offers faster way to pay)
