Multiple shaded “Rustico” chasuble, dyed for the a project: Marcella Gabbiani – The Chasuble suggests the Idea of Heaven. The project comes from the contemporary reinterpretation of The Ascent into the Empyrean or Highest Heaven by Hieronymus Bosch.
Different fabrics in different shades of blue are sewn together in rings and suggest the topic of Mary’s Assumption, while the spotted red trims anticipate her Son’s Passion.
The Chasuble wants to express the importance of the spiritual 'task' through the commitment of design and workmanship, rather than in the wealth of fabrics.
