St. Michael Archangel
Saint Michael the Archangel is considered the hetman of the archangels. He owes this honorable title to the victory he won over the Dragon, the symbol of evil.
"And a battle ensued in heaven:
Michael and his angels were to fight against the Dragon.
(...) And the great Dragon was cast down,
Deceiving the whole inhabited earth." (Rev. 12:7-9)
St. Michael stood at the head of devoted angels and defeated the rebels. Because of this extraordinarily courageous act, he is depicted as a valiant warrior, holding a sword in his hand, with the defeated fallen angel lying at his feet. "Michael!" in Hebrew became the name of the bravest of angels. God entrusted Saint Michael the Archangel, by giving him important tasks. He is the leader and commander of the heavenly hosts, the archangel of justice and judgment, who looks after the faithful.
In 1886, Pope Leo XIII wrote a special prayer to St. Michael, which we still use today to ask for support:
"Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, and against the wickedness and snares of the evil spirit be our defense. May God curb him, we humbly ask. And you, Commander of the heavenly hosts, cast Satan and other evil spirits that circulate in this world for the destruction of human souls, by the power of God, down into hell. Amen."
The statue of Saint Michael the Archangel was hand carved from a single block of marble. It is sold together with a marble base, which will emphasize the statue's dignity and allow a stable placement in various interiors and open spaces.
All the sculptures of this company are entirely handmade and made of marble by artists for whom sculpting is a lifelong passion. The process of carving is constantly supervised in order to make sure that the sculptures imitate as closely as possible the original works of art or designs planned by clients.
